Ed Sullivan

Fun Fact #1: Despite being a television icon Ed was always worried that he looked “Fat on TV”

Favorite memory with Wild Man:  “After Wild Man was blacklisted for being a communist (editors note:  allegedly.)  I got really mad at him and told him I wouldn’t let his ‘Bolshie hands play with my Jenga game anymore,’ which he would often beg to borrow from me.  Wild Man had a bad attitude about it, but later I peeked into his room and saw that he had gathered a bunch of Maple Tree twigs and was attempting to stack them to play a primitive form of Jenga.  This did not work very well for him, but it did show me his love for the game.  I relented and let him once again play with my Jenga because, “A passion like that is not to be denied.”

Fun Fact #2: If Wii Bowling had been invented in the late sixties it would have been a great source of exercise for Ed and given him the strength to do his show into the mid 1980’s. Of course it wouldn’t have helped with his esophageal cancer.

Fun Fact #3: He discovered Wild Man in the forest, and took him into his family as one of his own. Later there was a falling out because Wild Man kept forgetting to wipe his feet at the door and Ed thought he was a communist.

Wild Man on his journey. This picture is a metaphor for life.

Anything could be around that bend. Unfortunatley for Wild Man it was more miles of endless forest and not the Tom Petty concert he was looking for.
